November 4, 2018 Update

This week's budget didn't stick very well. I somehow completely spaced that my youngest son had school pictures on Friday. So that was fifty dollars I was not counting on spending. I also spaced that I scheduled a credit card payment for Thursday which came out Friday. I was on a roll. So the money I was putting back for bills is gone. We will manage and get by but a little frustrating. I have a better handle on Thursday's budget plan. I am already planning on the second half of the credit card payment to come out Friday. I have the money set to be taken out for the visit with my older boys.

I never heard back from the car place about the check - however it has been cancelled so if anyone tries to cash it while its not supposed to clear. I made a cash payment on Thursday and it feels good to know I have ONE payment left -- woohoo baby!!

We are planning out the month slowly and now leaving money for surprise items. I am picking up some extra days this month and found out we shouldn't be working on Thanksgiving. I will get to spend it at home with my family this year. I will get to make them dinner as soon as I get home. I am so excited!!

I might be a little crazy since I am just starting this budget to get out of debt, but we are looking at starting a business next year sometime. My youngest son is really being affected by me having to leave for work. In the mornings when I get home from work he always goes "Mommy you're back!", when he sees me. It breaks my heart. I know all kids go through this however he doesn't understand that I am going to work and will be back after my shift. I will be working my job and my business as long as I am able too. The insurance at my job is great. So if I am able to get this business going quickly and making some money - I will look at insurance for us outside of work that is comparable - reasonable- and just as great; so i can look at leaving my job.

I also plan on taking some accounting classes to work towards a business degree. Small steps though not rushing through all this. I want to pay off the debt, start the business, and take online classes for a business degree. I have my vendors lined up for product inventory. The items are amazing! It will start as a strictly online business at first. After some time, if things go well I will open a store front and have an online store. I don't want to extend myself too far too fast. The business is not going to start right away as I want to get a bit more debt paid off first. It is an idea I've wanted to do for quite some time now. I never felt like it was ever going to happen as I never saw an end to the debt.

(Im)Patiently waiting for 2017 tax refund it still killing me. I know I could have to wait until January 2019 to get it back which is 2 months away. It just not fair - ugh! So once I get that money bills, bills, bills will be paid off.

Christmas is coming soon upon us and I want to be ready. I have great ideas for all the kid sin store. I am budgeting some money now so I can get the kids what I want to.

Money Left

Today was a visit with my three older boys. I was worried for a moment that we wouldn't have enough money to do anything when I received the lunch bill for $74.15 plus tip which I left $10. I got lucky by having a $25 gift certificate which brought the total down to $49.15 then $10 tip made it $59.15 and I got $0.85 back. Yay for some kind of change! We went to the bowling alley since it was the last weekend for Kids Bowl Free All Summer and the place was packed and it was an hour wait for a lane. So the kids played black light mini golf instead. My daughter played 2 rounds and the boys played 3. It was a good deal since the price was $3.95 per person for unlimited golf. When we left we had $20 out of what I had budgeted for. I was going to take them to get milkshakes but I swear I heard the boys say they didn't want them so I told their dad we were done. Apparently only my oldest son said he didn't want one. Ooops! Anyways we have a starting balance of $20 for the next v...

Budget Breakdown

So let's go over my budget breakdown. We will cover weekly and monthly items. I cover somethings weekly and my husband covers the monthly items. I am sure that doesn't seem fair, that is how it has been ever since we got married and started getting credit cards and a car payment. The following weekly items will be paid or set aside every week and they are as follows: Personal Loan Babysitter D. Attorney Boys Visit D. Cigs PS4 Diapers D. Cell Phone Doctor Visits T. Life Insurance Vehicle Fuel After doing all the weekly bills we are left with about $75-$105 a week to make it to the next week. Since some of the money is going to savings for bills in the future we will be fine. Plus since the main item we can't really stock up on is milk, that is the one item we will know for sure we have to purchase each week. We are currently purchasing about 3-4 gallons a week and the current price is $1.89 a gallon.  The following monthly items are paid at the end of the m...

One Down!

Good Day! It's a wonderful feeling to see the first credit card paid off "IN FULL"! The payment has cleared the bank - so it is officially paid off! It feels amazing! Also my cell phone is paid off and I cancelled insurance on both my phone and my daughter's phone. She asked me to cancel it as she wants her cell bill cheaper as well. She babysits her brother to pay on her cell phone bill and earn a little extra cash for herself. If she didn't help with her brother I wouldn't be able to work the extra 2 days a month. So let's talk about how this will work for the month of November. I have my Excel spreadsheet all set up plus I have the Everydollar  app all set up as well. I will be making credits and debits to the different groups as they happen - at most two days in advance (i.e. when I know for sure a certain bill will be coming out). This way I can keep track of how much we are actually using for each item. I had a small issue with one category an...
