Budget Breakdown

So let's go over my budget breakdown. We will cover weekly and monthly items. I cover somethings weekly and my husband covers the monthly items. I am sure that doesn't seem fair, that is how it has been ever since we got married and started getting credit cards and a car payment.

The following weekly items will be paid or set aside every week and they are as follows:
  1. Personal Loan
  2. Babysitter
  3. D. Attorney
  4. Boys Visit
  5. D. Cigs
  6. PS4
  7. Diapers
  8. D. Cell Phone
  9. Doctor Visits
  10. T. Life Insurance
  11. Vehicle Fuel
After doing all the weekly bills we are left with about $75-$105 a week to make it to the next week. Since some of the money is going to savings for bills in the future we will be fine. Plus since the main item we can't really stock up on is milk, that is the one item we will know for sure we have to purchase each week. We are currently purchasing about 3-4 gallons a week and the current price is $1.89 a gallon.

The following monthly items are paid at the end of the month with D.'s money, they are as follows:
  1. Credit Card Bills
  2. Cable Bill
  3. K.'s Cell Phone
  4. Car Insurance
  5. K.'s Attorney
  6. Groceries
We will purchase 95% of the groceries at the end of the month when the monthly money comes in. Somethings we can't really stock up on but most of them we can. We have no rent or mortgage as the home we live in is paid off. The utility bills are paid by someone else - yes this is helping us as otherwise we wouldn't be able to afford to live here.

Like I mentioned before starting November 15th to November 22nd; I will be working 8 days straight to help with Christmas and a surprise for my boys at the end of the month. I could possibly pick up an extra day the week before just not sure yet.We are hoping that by the end of the year I might be able to drop the extra day on my short week but I am not sure how that will work since I included it in the budget. I am looking to redo the budget on my income at the first of the year and basing it strictly on my short week pay check every week since that should be more consistent. By the first of the year we will have paid off 3-4 credit cards, the car, cell phones for both myself and my daughter's cell, insurance on my cell, her cell, and 2 tablets. Getting all that paid off opens up approx $457 a month to use towards other credit cards. That amount starting in January will pay my attorney, the personal loan, and leave about $200 to go towards credit cards. Once taxes come in we will pay towards some bills.

Lots to think about but things are moving in the right direction.

Money Left

Today was a visit with my three older boys. I was worried for a moment that we wouldn't have enough money to do anything when I received the lunch bill for $74.15 plus tip which I left $10. I got lucky by having a $25 gift certificate which brought the total down to $49.15 then $10 tip made it $59.15 and I got $0.85 back. Yay for some kind of change! We went to the bowling alley since it was the last weekend for Kids Bowl Free All Summer and the place was packed and it was an hour wait for a lane. So the kids played black light mini golf instead. My daughter played 2 rounds and the boys played 3. It was a good deal since the price was $3.95 per person for unlimited golf. When we left we had $20 out of what I had budgeted for. I was going to take them to get milkshakes but I swear I heard the boys say they didn't want them so I told their dad we were done. Apparently only my oldest son said he didn't want one. Ooops! Anyways we have a starting balance of $20 for the next v...

One Down!

Good Day! It's a wonderful feeling to see the first credit card paid off "IN FULL"! The payment has cleared the bank - so it is officially paid off! It feels amazing! Also my cell phone is paid off and I cancelled insurance on both my phone and my daughter's phone. She asked me to cancel it as she wants her cell bill cheaper as well. She babysits her brother to pay on her cell phone bill and earn a little extra cash for herself. If she didn't help with her brother I wouldn't be able to work the extra 2 days a month. So let's talk about how this will work for the month of November. I have my Excel spreadsheet all set up plus I have the Everydollar  app all set up as well. I will be making credits and debits to the different groups as they happen - at most two days in advance (i.e. when I know for sure a certain bill will be coming out). This way I can keep track of how much we are actually using for each item. I had a small issue with one category an...
